You Are The Advice Columnist: How Do I Dress Like A Grown-Up, Androgynously?

I am at a loss for how to dress in a world where more formal usually means more feminine.
Hello xoJane! Here is a stereotypical “unstylish lesbian” question, How the do I dress like a grown up if I don’t wear feminine clothes, or have the waifish body necessary to rock a lot of “Boi” styles?
I feel like I am being held back because I don’t know what to wear, and wearing feminine clothes make me 1) super uncomfortable and 2) look like I am in a costume (because I am). Neither of those options lead to a whole lot of confidence for job interviews or formal functions.

I generally wear jeans and t-shirts whenever I can get away them because they are comfortable and androgynous. I don’t have a problem buying women’s clothes, but if I had the body for it I would probably wear far more men’s clothing. Unfortunately I am hippy, have boobs, and am a staggering 5’3. I am a little overweight, but I am trying to exercise more not just because I want to be healthier (yay), but because it might help masculine clothing fit me better.

In the meantime though, I would love some suggestions. Skirts are out, so are dresses and frilly blouses. I like masculine clothes, but I am by no means butch in my presentation (not that that is a problem, *winking face*). However, I am at a loss for how to dress in a world where more formal usually means more feminine. Help me out, guys!
